About Us - Welcome

Dear colleague,

Director of MIS and Information Technology (IT)

Thank you for your interest in becoming our next Director of MIS and IT.

Wirral Met College has been teaching generations of people since 1855. The origins of the college started with the Arts School and this remains a thriving and dynamic part of our college. Our rich history and heritage is something that we are very proud of and, as the largest college in Wirral, we also enjoy strong partnerships with the universities of Chester, Liverpool and Edge Hill.

At Wirral Met College, we are proud to be an inclusive and forward-thinking organisation, recognising the key role the college has in our community on the Wirral and also across the wider Liverpool City Region. We offer a wide range of courses to students of all ages and backgrounds, from entry level programmes to degree level study; from apprenticeships and bespoke employer-led programmes to vocational and technical full-time study programmes.

Wirral Met now has five career-led campuses across Wirral: Conway Park, Oval, Twelve Quays, Wirral Waters and Hamilton. Hamilton campus opened in September 2021 and is home to our Wirral Met College University Centre. The college has a turnover of £29 million per year and following the Ofsted inspection in October 2023, is rated ‘Requires Improvement’ with ‘Outstanding’ for our High Needs provision.

The college is going through a period of change; a new leadership team, a new strategic plan in development (2024-2027) and a strong desire to rapidly improve student outcomes and experience.

Our new Director of MIS and IT will take a key strategic leadership role in influencing and supporting the college and its future strategic objectives and values. As a visionary leader you will lead on innovative solutions that enhance teaching and learning. With a keen understanding of educational technology trends, you will lead talented teams in ensuring our management information is second to none whilst being able to visualise how we can optimise our IT infrastructure and systems.
