About Us - Welcome

Dear colleague,

Director of Registry Services

Thank you for your interest in the role of Director of Registry Services with us at City College Norwich. As we embark on our new phase of strategic development, supported by a new and ambitious strategic plan, the introduction of this new senior role represents an important milestone in the ongoing development of our organisation.

City College Norwich has constantly evolved over a period of over 133 years. Over the past few years, that evolution has been significant following two mergers with Paston Sixth Form College (now Paston College) and the Easton Campus of Easton and Otley College (now Easton College). Whilst City College Norwich has been the largest provider of further and higher education in Norfolk for many years, these mergers have provided additional responsibilities to North East Norfolk (via Paston College) and the land-based Agri-Food Technology sector (via Easton College).

We are proud that across the three colleges there is over 600 years of combined educational commitment to the county of Norfolk. The reason our institution was created was to ensure that Norwich and Norfolk had excellent technical and academic educational opportunities and we remain committed to that going forward.

Whilst recognising the opportunities there are for colleges such as ours to play a role regionally, nationally and internationally, our primary focus is to make Norfolk a better place to live and work by enhancing the educational opportunities and achievements of the communities we serve.

We are now seeking a new Director of Registry Services to provide strategic and operational leadership across a range of key services including student funding and data, admissions, exams, customer services and High Needs and apprenticeships funding. To succeed in this role you will be a highly experienced further education leader who can hit the ground running and as well as having expertise in the technical aspects of the role you will be a strong leader who can support, guide, mentor and develop the teams beneath you. You will also use your well-developed leadership skills to work across the college to ensure registry services are meeting the needs of all internal stakeholders.

As a key leader in the college your style and approach will be well aligned to our social purpose and our mission which is centred on providing excellent learning and development opportunities so our learners have successful futures. We will also expect candidates to demonstrate a close alignment with our values and ways of working which are:

  • Collaborative and Inclusive
  • Consistent and Responsible
  • Open and Informative
  • Respectful and Fair
  • Kind and Curious.

These ways of working underpin our interactions with each other as staff and are expressions of our commitment to our students, apprentices and the communities we serve.

We are hugely excited by the introduction of this role and we are clear that the person we appoint will have the opportunity to have a significant strategic impact on the future of the college.

We have retained FE Associates to support us with this important appointment. It is recommended that interested parties arrange an initial discussion with our lead consultant, Suzanne Thurlow, prior to submitting an application. Suzanne can be contacted at Suzanne.Thurlow@fea.co.uk

We very much hope the information we have provided gives you a good sense of who we are and our ambitions for the future and hope that you are as enthused by this opportunity as we are.

With kind regards

Jerry White
Principal and Chief Executive Officer
