About Us - Welcome
Dear colleague,
Thank you for expressing an interest in joining York College & University Centre as our next Director of Student and Apprentice Services.
This is an exciting time to be joining our wonderful college as we are in the process of outlining our strategic plan until 2030, as well as working towards our Brilliance Plan.
I truly believe this is a really interesting role for the right person. Hopefully, that is you.
We are the largest college in York and North Yorkshire, and we have the broadest curriculum offer, covering A Levels, T Levels, vocational programmes, apprenticeships, and higher level courses. Each year we educate close to 4,000 16-to-18-year-old students, nearly 1,000 apprentices, about 400 students studying higher level qualifications, and about 3,000 adult students. We also have around 350 students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
This role will help drive the culture of our students and apprentices across the college. By providing great leadership to the team members of this directorate, you will be responsible for ensuring our students and apprentices receive the support they need to be successful in their studies at the college and be better prepared for their lives after college – whatever it is they decide to do.
You are likely to have significant experience in more than one of the areas this role covers (Additional Learning Support, Funding and Transport, Safeguarding, Student Voice Pastoral support, and Well-being) but you will need to have a broad understanding of all aspects of the role and be able to provide support to your teams.
We have appointed FE Associates to support us with this important appointment. Interested parties are advised to make contact with our recruitment partner, by emailing Amanda.Hart@fea.co.uk, before the closing date and prior to submitting an application.
If you do decide to apply, good luck and I look forward to learning more about you.
Best wishes
Ken Merry
Principal and Chief Executive
