About Us - Welcome
Dear colleague,
Head of LDS
Thank you for your interest in this exciting and challenging role working within NCG across Lewisham College and Southwark College.
NCG is made up of seven colleges across a national footprint, with over 2,500 colleagues supporting more than 40,000 learners towards a successful future across the country. With a mission to enable social mobility and economic prosperity for all our learners and communities, having the right people with the experience and talent to lead our colleges and our colleagues is absolutely crucial. Finding talented leaders, helping them to develop and enabling them to drive the success of our colleges is something that we are particularly passionate about and it’s something we’re really focused on at NCG.
Lewisham College and Southwark College are large further education colleges in London, with around 9,000 learners each year, and are proud of their reputation for producing knowledgeable, successful students with great employment potential. We offer an exciting range of work-focused courses, and provide a friendly, supportive learning environment where talent is nurtured.
We have achieved excellent results in recent years, but we know that we can only continue our success, and grow, by recruiting and retaining the best possible talent.
We set out to employ staff with a genuine passion for further education and a commitment to ensuring all students achieve their potential, whatever barriers they need to overcome. Our people make a real difference not only to the lives of students, but also to local employers and the wider community.
NCG’s Learner Data Service Directorate concentrates on the management of the ILR, funding and audit requirements of the organisation as well as the Exams function in each college. It also supports and advises the business planning process annually and its staff provide expert advice to the college curriculum teams, and managers in Quality, Admissions, Marketing and IT. As the Head of LDS in London you will manage a team that supports two very different colleges in a vital role with a broad strategic influence in our organisation.
We are looking for an experienced leader who will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The role requires a leader with a proven track record in funding and MIS within the education sector, who can inspire a team and drive change. Working closely with the SLTs in each college, and within the frameworks of NCG, the successful candidate will manage an Exams Manager and a relatively new exams team as well as an experienced funding and data team. They will be the expert voice in both colleges, informing decision-making, and providing stakeholders with regular, timely and accurate information.
We have retained FE Associates to support us with this important role. Prior to submitting an application, interested parties are advised to arrange an initial conversation with our recruitment partner, by emailing Amanda.Hart@fea.co.uk, to discuss the role before the closing date.
I am delighted that you are interested in this role at NCG, which I know will be challenging, rewarding and provide great opportunities for development and professional progression and look forward to receiving your application.
