About Us - Welcome

November 2021

Dear Colleague

Governor / Co-opted Member

Thank you for showing interest in the Governor / Co-opted member roles that we have available at Hopwood Hall College and University Centre.

Hopwood Hall College and University Centre has two campuses in the borough of Rochdale. We have, this academic year, launched our brand-new College Strategy for 2021 - 2025. This sets out four ambitious aims that we will work tirelessly to achieve over the next four years, and which will contribute to Rochdale and Greater Manchester’s ambitious economic plans. We, as a Board and Senior Leadership Team, are excited about the opportunities that we bring to the community in Rochdale and Greater Manchester, and we are equally enthusiastic about what the future holds.

Our vision, “Bringing out the best in you”, supports our restless ambition to raise the aspirations of our whole community and provide inspiring opportunities for all so that we can thrive in work and make a positive impact.

This vision is underpinned by our values of integrity, ambition, nurturing, sustainability and enjoyment. We pride ourselves on our nurturing approach, the wider support we provide for our students and our inclusivity.

The College has well established governance arrangements and the Board and Executive Team have a positive and trusted working relationship. We are looking for new members to join our Board either as a Governor or Co-opted Member. We have a broad range of experiences and skills and we are looking for individuals who have the commitment to support, challenge and drive forward our strategy.

Our ambition is to work together to promote a more inclusive environment, which attracts students and employees that are reflective of our community and signals our commitment to celebrate and promote diversity across the College, including amongst our Corporation Board members.

These are crucial appointments for us and to help us to find the right people, we have retained the support of FE Associates. Prior to submitting an application, interested parties are encouraged to arrange an initial conversation with our FE Associates lead consultant, by emailing Suzanne.Thurlow@fea.co.uk, to discuss the role before the closing date.
