About Us - Welcome

Dear Colleague,

DEPUTY PRINCIPAL CURRICULUM & STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS

Thank you for your recent interest in applying for the above role and wanting to become part of Team ECC.

East Coast College’s vision is to: “Transform individuals and build communities through education.” It is at an exciting time in our development. We are Ofsted ‘Good’. We have strong finances, recently graded by ESFA as ‘Outstanding’. We are also involved in some amazing projects and partnerships and have a strategic aim of becoming ‘Outstanding’ by the next Ofsted inspection.

We have campuses at Lowestoft, Suffolk and Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, which are due to be re-developed with investments in the region of £50m by 2024. We are currently developing an additional new Civil Engineering Campus at Lound, in Suffolk and a £11m Higher Education and Adult Skills Centre in the Great Yarmouth Town Centre. These developments are a great opportunity to focus on future curriculum to enable us to deliver the highest possible teaching and learning experience.

In partnership, we are also working on a regionally collective Institute of Technology to support rapid higher technical growth in health sciences, tourism and the arts, alongside engineering and new energy. We have recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Sizewell C Consortium to develop the vital skills and qualifications they require in nuclear new build. Alongside the expansion of the local offshore renewables industries, this will support the low carbon and clean inclusive growth agendas. Our college curriculum now requires reappraisal to ensure that it meets local needs, future skills requirements and the emerging green jobs revolution.

All of this has been recognised by the College being awarded FE Charter status, who appraise, recognise and celebrate achievement, highly effective practice and excellent leadership and governance in the further education sector. In 2021, the College also achieved Best Companies ‘top 25’ education provider. We are ambitious for our staff and students.

At East Coast College we are a team and live the College values of:

  • ASPIRATIONAL - Being supportive, exploring potential and challenging ourselves daily.
  • RESPECTFUL - Acting with compassion, being inclusive, and welcoming to others in our learning community and to our environment.
  • PROFESSIONAL - Putting team first, acting with integrity, developing our expertise and having a focused work ethic.
  • SUCCESSFUL - Determining our ambition, achieving excellence and continually raising standards.
