We have prioritised growth, curriculum innovation, resilience and sustainability as key strategic aims and our next leader will position us to be successful in everything we do.

We are passionate about the role we play in the community and meeting the needs of our students, staff and employers, and are looking for an accomplished senior leader from further education to take us forward.

About Us - Welcome

Dear Colleague

Principal and Chief Executive

I want to thank you for your interest in joining Chelmsford College as our new Principal.

We are proud of what we do at Chelmsford College and our mission - to unlock potential and help our learners achieve the best possible future. We work hard to prepare our learners for the world of work. Throughout their time at College, our learners develop both the knowledge and skills needed to achieve their goals and successfully progress onto their next step, be that further study, employment or higher education.

In December 2017, Ofsted judged the College as ‘Good’ and we are particularly proud to be described as an ‘inclusive college’. Our community and our learners are central to everything we do and we aim to improve life chances for all.

Under the guidance of the Board of Governors, the College is entering an exciting new phase in its development and is adopting a new strategy to become bigger and more financially resilient. Like all colleges in the sector, we are looking at how we align ourselves to new priorities, how we innovate to better meet the skills required by employers and how we develop and deliver our teaching and learning to meet the needs of a post-pandemic world. Therefore, we are looking for a forward thinking and high performing individual who can bring fresh ideas into the College; someone who can lead the College through this exciting growth phase whilst delivering an agenda of continuous quality improvement. Most of all, we need an energetic, ambitious leader who is keen to develop their career.

We have appointed FE Associates to support us with this crucial appointment. Prior to submitting an application, interested parties are advised to arrange a conversation with our recruitment partner, by emailing Matt.Atkinson@fea.co.uk, to discuss this exciting opportunity before the closing date.

I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to the College.

Amanda Montague
Chair of Governors
