About Us - Welcome

Dear Colleague,

Curriculum Area Manager (CAM) Stewart Park

Thank you for your interest in the role of Curriculum Area Manager (CAM) Stewart Park at Askham Bryan College. This is one of a number of new roles within the curriculum structure, offering a real opportunity for an experienced individual to play a pivotal role in leading the College to ensure that we deliver fully on our strategic objectives for the curriculum areas and, in turn, ensure the success of the College for both students and staff.

Askham Bryan College offers an outstanding working environment - the College is set in a stunning location with a beautiful and inspirational campus located next to York, England’s most historic city, with superb transport links to London, Leeds and Edinburgh. The College is one of only 10 specialist land-based colleges in the country. With nearly 5000 students studying up to Master’s level, it plays a significant role in the regional and national professional skills agendas.

The College has launched its new and highly ambitious strategic plan and vision for 2030 and beyond with a view to becoming the leading land-based specialist College in the country, achieved by delivering an outstanding land-based curriculum developing the very best professional and technical skills, and opportunities for students. The student experience and environment will be exceptional - we will play a key role in engaging people and place, and sustainability will be at the heart of our College - whether that’s related to our colleagues, finances, estate or the wider environment.

We are also excited to be partnered with the University of York and Fera Science on BioYorkshire, a ten-year programme that will transform the UK’s bio economy, deliver a bold new green agenda to create jobs, boost the regional economy and develop sustainable solutions for some of the UK’s most pressing environmental challenges.

Recently, the College has undergone major structural change which has enabled it to re-shape its future and its ambition. For the curriculum areas, this has meant reshaping the management structure to ensure appropriate resource is deployed, both at the frontline and at management level.

The focus of this change is to ensure that we provide outstanding leadership within our curriculum areas and have curriculum managers who understand and can influence the link between operations and strategy. This role offers an outstanding opportunity to make a significant difference to our curriculum delivery and ensure a high-quality experience for our students.
